The new Deer Island Vessel shall be a ninety nine (99) passenger, twenty four (24) AEU car/truck double ended ferry with roll-on/roll-off access from either end. Seating is provided in a dedicated passenger lounge for 14 persons plus a wheelchair.

The Vessel shall be designed and constructed to provide the following:

1. a minimum of seventeen (17) round trips per day between L′Etête Terminal and Deer Island Terminal;
2. occasional emergency and overload trips as required; and
3. one (1) monthly dangerous goods trip.
